The Big Day

Congratulations again to my sister, she's married! Our little family of four looked good that day as we were all in the wedding. Notice how handsome Jared and Owen are in their suits and chuck taylors and Paige's beautiful flower girl dress that my mother-in-law made. It was beautiful! As I was in the wedding, I didn't have a camera to take pictures. As I get some I will post them but here are a few. It was a wonderful wedding with perfect weather, the day could not have gone better.

While we were in Houston for the wedding we had lot's of quality time (and some not so quality time when the kids were having tough days) with grandparents and great-grandparents. We also were so blessed to see my father's brother and family from Oregon and Washington as well as my mother's family from Arizona, Maryland and Minnesota. Again, some photos to comemmorate the wonderful times we had.

Sisters

I'm excited to announce that my sister is now Mrs. Kimberly Anne Elizondo. I was honored to stand by her side as her Matron (hate that word!) of Honor. We all love Austin and are thrilled for them both. The last two weeks of October were a frenzy of activity while we were in Houston for the wedding. I flew into town a bit early so I could go to Kim's bachelorette party. Though first Kim took me shopping because I was not allowed to wear my "mommy jeans" out. We all had a great time at Howl at the Moon. Here are a few pictures of the two of us and many more pictures to come so bear with me.

In the Sandbox

While we were in Houston for my sister's wedding we were able to spend a lot of time at Granlee and Grandad's house. One day while at my dad's getting ready to head over to the Solether's, my dad asked Owen where we were going. Owen answered, "To Granlee and Grandad's. They have a sandbox and mosquitos!" We of course got a good laugh. And indeed, despite efforts to spray, they did have mosquitos that just ate Owen up. I understand why - he is a sweet boy!

Little Monkeys

We have a magnolia tree in the front yard. In true three year old boy fashion, Owen has decided it is a good tree climbing tree. Unfortunately he's still a bit small but can get in the tree with Daddy's help. Paige, in true little sister fashion, has to do everything big brother is doing. In a rare moment for our kids, we were able to capture a half way decent photo of the two together (and of course a few on their own). Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

Another little aggie

My friend Karley loves it when I post pictures of Paige and Owen at the same age. This post is for you Karley!!!

When viewing this post you may say, "Hey- I've seen that shirt before!" Yes, you have. Owen wore this shirt two years ago and Jared wore it thirty years ago and now Paige is wearing it. This is Jared's aggie shirt from when he was a baby (obviously).

I need to get my hands on a picture of Jared wearing this shirt and scan it in, maybe I'll do that over Christmas when home, if I remember.

Spreckles Cup - Polo Match

So I need to play a bit of catch up here. The first weekend of October (yes, I said October!) Jared and I had the opportunity to take the family to a polo match. It was a first for all of us and we really enjoyed it! The horses were amazing and the polo players were obviously quite skilled at what they do. We saw two matches and after the first two chuckers of the second match, we got to stomp the divots (Pretty Woman style). It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun, here are a few pictures to commemorate the day.

Each match has four to six chukkers (a chucker period of 7 minutes), each player uses a new horse for each chukker. Four players per team...that's at least 24 horses needed per team for one match (they have extra horses on had in case of overtime, which we saw in the final match). Pretty expensive game!
